Of course she couldn’t do this to her baby, they were so happy she was pregnant and utterly devastated at this news. <br /><br />She followed Drs orders to stay on bed-rest, however she still delivered way too early. Her son was born weighing just under two pounds, a very sick little boy – a micro-preemie. He stayed in the hospital for months and months in the NICU (Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit). <br /><br />He was finally released, though still sick; he is the light of his parents’ life. He still has severe health issues, more than one year after his birth, and he is in and out of the hospital with a heartbreaking frequency. <br /><br />The worst part about this is that his parents, one of whom works in law enforcement, will likely never pay off all the debt this has brought on them.Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08066101890294828980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37058306.post-23241240378060513552009-09-03T22:05:21.011-07:002009-09-03T22:05:21.011-07:00Oh my gosh Dax im SO glad you wrote that not only because what a brilliant story about your daughters but for the positive and MOST realistic view of free health care. <br /><br />It really irritates me that the American people and fear mongering American mass media cannot seem to get passed this odd belief that somehow the Government will now pick and choose who lives or dies - it&#39;s such a narrow minded, un-educated view of the subject.<br /><br />Free healthcare in America will not only make it a far more civilised place but, as you say - it will allow people of all socio-economic groups the right to good health and life - free from stress or worry or foregoing vital tests and surgery for the fear of the cost. I myself would rather pack myself up and fly back to London to get treatment than cause myself undue stress worrying how im going to afford an IV or X-ray! <br /><br />So - thank you for verbalising mine and many others thoughts.Lucy Anoreply@blogger.com
