Glastonbury 2007, 100,000s of tickets sold online in just a few hours. Great for the organisers who didn't have to pay for a bank of operators, and great for the would be festival goers who could buy tickets globally and from the comfort of their own home.
(Or office as one cunning colleague and 6 PCs testify to)
But no.
Today it was announced that at least 40 percent of next years tickets would be sold on.the phone because the online system is unfair........ to teenagers.
Suprised?
It turns out that the online race method is unfair as middle aged people are more likely to have broadband than their teenage counterparts. And the organisers thought this year was just too darn middle-aged.
Could this be the way to get kids into libraries, even if it is just to use the broadband connection once a year. Just a thought.
